Larry Rodgers Design Group is an independent golf course irrigation design and consulting firm — small, senior, and focused on getting the water right for the next 25 years.
Founded in 1987 on the encouragement of two prominent golf architects, LRDG has spent more than three decades doing one thing exceptionally well: engineering irrigation systems for golf courses.
Our work spans championship resorts, private clubs, municipal courses, and military facilities — more than 700 projects across 43 U.S. states, 24 countries, and five continents. Sixty-four of those courses have been named "Best Newly Opened" by Golf Digest, and fourteen sit in Golfweek's top-100 modern courses.
We are deliberately small — a team of three. That is a feature, not a limitation. It means the principal stays personally involved in every phase of every project, from the first site visit to the final record drawings. Clients work directly with the people doing the engineering.
Every project carries the principal's direct oversight — and the credentials to back it.
Larry Rodgers is a licensed engineer and accredited irrigation designer and auditor with more than 35 years in golf course irrigation. He founded the firm in 1987 and has personally guided its work across five continents ever since.
His memberships and accreditations reflect a practice that sits at the intersection of civil engineering, agronomy, and irrigation technology.
We keep the firm small on purpose. No project is handed down to a junior desk; the people you meet are the people who engineer, draw, stake, and close out your system.
